Finland reinstate travel restrictions on some European countries

Nova Talent, Vesa Laakso

Yesterday Finnish Government make new announcement related to travel restrictions. Restrictions will be reintroduced for travelers returning from Netherlands, Belgium and Andorra, this will be valid from 10th August. This is based on fact that in those countries COVID19 cases have been increasing since restrictions were initially lifted on 13th July.
Next update to this topic is expected to happen within 2-weeks, on 24th August 2020.

Finnish Government have set following guideline for updating travel restrictions:

"The government had said that border controls can be waived only if less than eight cases have been detected per 100,000 people in 14 days.
The situation will be reviewed every two weeks."

"Restrictions on internal border traffic have been lifted for traffic between Finland and Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, Greece, Liechtenstein, Malta, Germany, Slovakia and Hungary."

Looking forward to see more European countries on the list with access to Finland in purpose of internship. Hopefully we're able to initiate Erasmus activities gradually and get things running (again).
