The city is home to plenty of cafés, restaurants, cultural attractions and things to do throughout the year. You can explore the charming city centre, visit the famous Tampere Market Hall, enjoy the views from Pyynikki, or take a walk by the lakeside.
Tampere is also a great destination for a day trip from Turku, with good train connections (1.45-2 hours) making it easy to visit and explore the city.

Stockholm
Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, is a vibrant city that may feel even livelier than Helsinki! With its charming old town, trendy shops, buzzing nightlife, waterfront views, and countless cafés and restaurants, there is always something to see and do. Getting there is easy, too! Ferries depart conveniently from Turku Harbour, which you can reach by taking bus number 1 from the city centre. Enjoy a mini-cruise and spend a weekend exploring another Nordic capital.

Tallinn
Last but not least, Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, is known for its charming medieval Old Town, cosy cafés, trendy restaurants, and lively atmosphere. It’s a great destination for a budget-friendly weekend getaway! Getting there from Turku is easy: take a train or bus to Helsinki and then hop on a ferry to Tallinn. The ferry journey takes around 2–2.5 hours, making it easy to explore our southern neighbour during your internship. P.S., do you remember Estonia’s Eurovision sensation, Tommy Cash? In 2025, the Pop & Contemporary Art Museum even held an exhibition dedicated to him. Definitely a museum worth visiting!
